Human Resources Plan

One of the major visions of Door step Delivery is to be a considerate helping hand for the community of Terrace. With this delivery system everyday life we will make it easier for disabled people, for  people who do-not have transportation and for senior citizens. The business will be really useful for stay at home parents as well. For our company, we are preferring applicants who are the residents of Terrace so that they are already familiar with the city, the streets and the people. Interpersonal skills are very relevant for this field of work. Hence, I prefer and 12th grade in regards to qualification, a valid driver’s license and previous experience in the field of customer service. We won’t engage in the use of any automated softwares for recruitment especially through job websites.

We made the decision to advertise the recruitment opportunity through social media such as Facebook and Instagram. Our other option is to advertise through the local newspaper to recruit the drivers.Ideally, I should be investing 15% of the profit in digital marketing. However, since it is the initial stage of business, I am not in a position to do so since the profits have not been that high. As the city of terrace is a small town where people know each other , we believe that it is highly beneficial to recruit through trustworthy references for the candidates. Door Step delivery have also partnered with the local Car wash and several other restaurants. Employee referrals from these sources will be given priority as well. 

We made the decision to have regular meetings to motivate our employees to perform better and to address their problems or feedbacks. On top of that, we will always be in contact with the drivers on a daily basis so that we can solve problems as soon as possible.They would also be appreciated, respected and rewarded for their work.  I would also like to provide a positive work culture where every member feels included with a collaborative leadership system. I would like to provide flexible schedules for the employees with better pay and benefits compared to other similar businesses. The delivery driver would have 5% commission on each delivery that would be conducted.

We train our employees in regards to the products and services, soft skills, critical thinking skills, transitional training, continuous learning and developmental training. Continuous learning would include regular workshops with updated information regarding the business so that better customer service could be achieved. Training workshops in regards to developing performance would include simulated videos portraying problematic scenarios which would require quick and efficient decisiveness which would be engaging for the employees. There will be questions during and at the end of each video for continuous learning for the employees. The compensation that I would like to provide would be medical insurance and dental insurance along with the commission for each delivery. If the employee has worked with the company for over 2 years , he/she would be eligible for long term incentives. In the job description, We convey the vision of the company, the tasks and responsibilities, the hours of work, location and number of hours of work in each week. I would also like to mention about the work culture and the interaction with diverse culture. I would like to emphasize on the interpersonal skills required for the job along with the academic qualifications that I am looking for. We are looking for a personnel with one year of experience in the field of customer service. We would also like to give an overview of a typical work day at the company. We would like to give a raise every 6 months for the employees. However, the raise in salary would also be based on bonus points depending on the number of deliveries achieved every month.  We are considering permanent employees for the firm since it will take some time to get used to the routes and the procedures . However, since the business usually has more orders during summer time, we prefer to recruit seasonal employees to help the permanent employees. They would have the medical and dental benefits as well. However, we would like to have the seasonal employees under contract.
