    • We love to see our venture as a way for us to help the society that we live in. Delivery business is really helpful nowadays as it’ll enable older generation and disabled access to services of the town in their door steps. As we all know, British Columbia consists of several small townships which are in dire need of a delivery system and we certainly intend to explore those opportunities but in the present situation we keep ourselves focused on the activities in Terrace.

    • We are planning to incorporate an app function that could scan the IDs provided by the government. The drivers will install the app in their smart phones so that they can deliver the alcohol only to customers who are of legal age.
  • As mentioned in the customer segments part of the business canvas model, disabled people are part of the target customers; with this, how will you make your app accessible to people with visual impairments?
    • Since our primary aim is to provide service to the disabled population we focus on all disabled including visually impaired customers. We already made provisions for those sections of the society including the direct phone calls options for those who have sight issues. We’ll take direct orders from them so that they are not excluded from the accessibility of our services.

    • We are only hiring drivers with vehicles who have clean sheet and with serve it right. As a business we are trying it beneficial for both the drivers and the management by creating a proportion of 3:2 where the drivers get the former portion while the management gets the latter.  But the catch is this amount includes the cost of fuel and other costs of the vehicle. The tips that the driver gets, without any deduction, will be his.

How will the app keep track of the hours to ensure that customers will not place an order in a restaurant that is closed or not operating at the time of their need?
    • We are providing the access to an app exclusively made for the restaurants and the fast foods so that they can close their orders directly from their app and make food according to the order. This app will be connected to the public in a way that customers will be able to identify the open and closed restaurants in the app.
  • Is your management staff capable of putting the plan into action?
    • On your door step is expecting few orders at the initial stages of the business hence, the entrepreneur will be taking care of the business solely. However, I am looking forward to employ one or two staffs to help the customer to get orders from them through phone or for online enquiries as well as to assist the drivers to reach the target safely and within the time limit.
  • Is this service truly needed in the Land of Coast Mountain where I’m investing?
    • As the entrepreneur of the business, I did some research on the feasibility of the business and I found that there is only one delivery service which delivers alcohol yet but they are also at their initial stage. Hence, I believe that by providing a great customer experience and offers as well as collaborating with liquor store, business could grow in its own. Liquor sales will help the business to reach more customers which include customers who don’t even use alcohol.
  • Besides my capital, what more can I contribute to your door-to-door delivery service business?
    • Your capital will help us to grow our business dynamically but your presence in the management will be the most crucial factor here. A good partner or investor can provide valuable suggestions to the company and put a lot of hard work and sweat to build the company to the next level. As of now, I will be handling the managerial decisions alone but a hand to reach will be something that I will be happy to look forward into.
  • What have stock options previously been granted? What is the equity split amongst the founders?
    • Our business is a small business and with your investment I would like it as a partnership firm instead of a limited company. However, in a long term view I would like to register it as a limited company. Hence, I would like to split our investment in 60:40 ratios where my share will be 60.
  • What is the next step you’ll take with this money?
    • The fund from the new investor will be used to upgrade the usage of quality debit machine, advertisement, acquiring new staff for management as well as for adding more drivers to the firm.
  • As there is already a third-party delivery service in your town, what advantage would fast food chains and restaurants have using your service over your competitors?
    • Only a few restaurants have a contract with the SPYCE right now which gives us an opportunity to make contracts with other restaurants and fast food chains. Since we are a start-up we are making a deal with less commission for us which will be a competitive advantage for us. Since we have less volume of sales as we are in the initial stage we would be able to deliver the food as fast as possible. There are no other delivery service which offers to deliver alcohol to people which makes the customers to order food and alcohol at the same time through our delivery app which gives us as well as the restaurants to increase their sales volume.
  • Customer considerations:
  • Do I get any rewards or discounts on my orders if I order in bulk?
    • We have a rewards system in our app, which helps the customers to get points according to their purchase. Hence, bulk orders will help the customers to get higher points which they could use to avail a free delivery or a discount.
  • Do you follow all precautions relating to hygiene and safe delivery on my door? Do you have a particular guideline regarding COVID 19?
    • We are living in the world where the pandemic is still lurking in every corner. Apart from the pandemic, there are other diseases that can spread easily as we are dealing with food. Hence, we are taking maximum care to reduce the chances of spreading the virus or any disease through our hands. We also have instructed our drivers to use masks and gloves while they enter restaurants and when they deliver food.
  • Is there a scheme in the case of failed delivery within the time? If yes, what will the compensation be?
    • Our business is a start-up hence we have less volume which help us to have a great control over our service and the town of terrace is a small town with less traffic which help us to anticipate the routes and ETA accurate as possible. But as a business, we are expecting contingency thus I have some backup drivers in such a case. But if our service is late we will be providing a discount to the customer or they would have the right to cancel the order which will be refunded without any query.
  • How can I complain or solve my query regarding my orders? Do you have any app that will help me to track my order? What if a customer needs to cancel or modify their order after they have placed their order?
    • Our official app includes the option to give feedbacks which could be seen by the public hence we make it transparent to ensure the customers get what they want. If the customers have any emergency issues they have the option to call our customer service which would help them to handle the issue instantly. The app also allows the customer to track their orders so that they can get ready for the order and they also have the option to cancel the order or modify their order before the order has been picked by the restaurants or the fast food chains.
  • Are you accepting online payments? Do you also prefer cash or card on delivery on your services?
    • Our app includes the option to pay for the order after making the order or after receiving the order. But we also are accepting cash payments, however we encourage more card payments it is more convenient to both the parties which saves a lot of time for us.
  • What is your “Delivery Radius” or a “Delivery Area”?
    • Our delivery service radius includes the city of terrace as well the Thornhill and the surrounding areas.
  • If any restaurant or shop wants to use your delivery service then what do they have to do?
    • They have the choice to make a contract with us which could include a short term as for a trial period and they have the option to decide upon our performance.
  • What if your driver delivers an order to the wrong address?
    • While making the order, the customers has to put their address then only they are directed to payment getaway. Since there can be errors while putting the address we are providing the contact number of the driver so that the customers could guide the driver to the right address. The customers are also encouraging to give their contact number so that it is convenient for both the parties. But in case of a wrong address we will reduce our service charge for the inconvenience caused from our part.
  • There is already a SPYCE food delivery service in your town.Which seems famous over there. So, what would you do to be different from that company to attract customers?
    • We are the only delivery app in the area which provides liquor delivery which helps us a competitive advantage for us. Since people like to get their food and alcohol at the same time and as we have rewards points the customers will be encouraged to order through our app.
  • As mentioned on your website, the proportion of delivery drivers to the management is 3:2. As the business would flourish, should we expect to change?
    • We hope that our business will grow and if we grow to our potential we like to reward our drivers who are the face and soul of our company. Thus, we like to give them their maximum return as possible within our financial limits.
  • What is your refund policy?
    • We believe that customer is the king thus we like to reduce any inconvenience from our part to the customers. We like to refund the customers in case of a wrong order or for taking too much time than the ETA.
  • If one of your drivers is not following guidelines or is reported for unacceptable behavior, what policy do you have in place to deal with such situation?
    • We don’t encourage such a behaviour from our delivery partner. Since we all are humans, we are prone to mistakes thus we’ll always give a chance for them to explain their cause and issue a final warning for one time. In such a case that the issue is recurring, we will be having only option to part ways.
